New Church Gets New QM450a PA
New Church in Botany began in March 2011 at Botany Public School Hall. The initial launch group comprised 35 adults and 20 children from Wild Street Anglican Church in Maroubra. The New Church is an Anglican church with people of various ages, cultures, backgrounds and denominations.
With a new and growing Church, the size and location is expected to change in time so an audio system must be flexible and easily able to integrate into a larger system in time. The ideal type of mobile system for this purpose is the Quest QM series powered speakers. This new Quest model is designed for the A/V rental industry so its tough construction and excellent voice projection capability made it idea for the New Church.

The church is currently meeting in a school hall whilst in the process of renovating the St Matthews chapel in Botany. The QM 450As are used as front of house and the Church has a pair of ultra compact Quest QSA 200i powered speakers on foldback. The speakers were purchased with a view to being re-deployed in the renovated building eventually.
The budget was tight and as the church is using volunteers to set up and pull down every week, good build quality, ease of use, sound quality and were the criteria. The active boxes give them lots of flexibility and portability for the other community events and outreach the church is also participating in.
Everyone commented both on stage and in the congregation that they could now hear everything. The power and clarity of the 450As in a reverberant space like a school gym is particularly impressive for the price. They've stopped having problems with feedback during preaching from lapel mics and stage mics. This is another benefit from the Quest asymmetrical projection system originally developed for the high end HPI systems.
