Possibly the smallest 18" speaker system on the market? The HPI18LP band-pass 18" sub bass is a compact solution for permanent installation and live sound touring where a low profile sub bass is required. The HPI18LP is suited to mid to high sound pressure level bass and sub bass as a stand-alone unit, as part of a block or in combination with the 12" HPI212S sub bass, as a multi-way or parallel sub bass system.
This solidly built band-pass sub bass is tuned low for electronic music or projecting live "kick" into larger venue spaces. Particularly when set up as a ground stack of two vertical boxes, the HPI18LP package benefits from coupling to deliver punchy extended low frequency to medium to larger venue spaces.
The floorspace footprint the same as the 2 x 12" HPI212S sub and the systems can be operated together in a parallel or an electronically band-passed ground stack. The casings have interlocking feet giving the system a very “integrated” appearance.
The HPI18LP casing contains threaded inserts for flying in permanent installations and also a 35mm speaker pole top hat for mounting satellite boxes. The speakon connector panel is recessed to prevent accidental damage to the speaker cable connectors and acts as a cable strain relief for more reliability.
The HPI18LP is a very powerful sub. Quest Engineering recommends an amplifier capable of delivering 800-1200W (nominal) to ensure full performance. The perfect solution are Quest's QA3004 or the new QX4500
