QM500 High Power 15" Loudspeaker
The QM500 is a 15" + 1" loudspeaker featuring an asymmetrical wave-guide. The QM500 is a multi-purpose passive speaker system designed and built for professional mobile live sound applications and permanent audio installations. With power handling of 450 watts RMS (900w music power) the QM500 is a mid powered versatile and hi-fidelity front of house or fold-back monitor for professional applications.
In Venue or On Road
Much like the QM350i and QM700, the QM500 is perfect for situations where voice projection is required in challenging environments. The high powered components and solid build construction will stand up to the heavy demands of any rental company. The QM500 has been designed and manufactured with the same philosophy as all Qmotion products: to withstand demanding use in production environments.
Even the smallest details reveal the practical insight into the QM500 such as non slip skids on the base and side of the casing to prevent movement when the box is functioning as a foldback monitor on a timber floor. The heavy gauge steel grill and recessed connectors couple1)d with the ergonomic casing design, make the QM500 a no compromise pro performer in the hands of any professional who demands instant results.
Wave Guided HF
The QM500 boasts an exceptionally accurate HF response due to its purpose designed high frequency driver which is coupled to Quest's custom designed asymmetrical wave-guide delivering an ultra smooth frequency response. In addition, the wave-guide can be rotated through four dispersion planes maximizing the QM500's application potential.
The 1" horn sports a wide 90-100 degree coverage at the base of the flare and a long throw 40 degrees at the top. This ensures that the HF energy can be directed accurately wherever it is needed without exciting unnecessary room reverberation. This unique horn geometry design can also minimize "hot zones” at the base of the flare. This is greatly beneficial in use when microphones are positioned closely to speaker systems or when used as a monitoring.
Wooden Body, Steel Faced
The QM500 chassis is made of the same heavy duty birch ply wood as our high performance and industry trusted HPI systems. Finished with an extremely resilient black coating and fitted with a wrap-around heavy gauge protective steel grille, the QM500 has been crafted to endure even the most demanding environments and is built to last.
Power Me Up
The QM500 can take serious power by any standard. Quest Engineering recommends an amplifier capable of delivering 350-500W (8ohm) to ensure full performance. The perfect solution are Quest's QA2004 or the new QX4500.
